What is MRI?
Magnetic Resonance Imagery, or MRI, is a harmless, pain-free procedure that creates detailed internal images of the body and brain. MRIs have been used in human diagnosis for more than two decades, and now veterinarians are using this technology to diagnose similar medical conditions in pets. The process allows doctors to quickly and accurately diagnose conditions, like cancer or orthopedic injuries, without invasive surgery or radiation. By providing more detailed images of injuries and diseases than traditional diagnostic tests, MRI can be used to diagnose problems in the brain, spine, joints, abdomen, and other areas.
In order to determine whether an MRI is necessary for your pet, you must first consult your veterinarian who can refer you to AnimalScan. AnimalScan will not administer MRIs for pets without a veterinary referral. AnimalScan features the latest available MRI technology, providing your pet with fast, comfortable service and your veterinarian with accurate results. All our veterinary radiologists are board certified, with additional training in MRI technology and evaluation.
You can call 877-VET-MRIS (838-6747) to schedule an appointment or click here, if you have been directed to do so by your veterinarian. If you are unable to keep your appointment time, please contact AnimalScan 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
