What is MRI?

MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The technology uses high-power magnets and computerized imaging equipment to produce a 360-degree view of internal organs and tissue.

How long does an MRI take?
It varies depending on what part of the body is being scanned. AnimalScan features advanced state-of-the-art MRI equipment that completes scans quickly. A scan may take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours.

When will my veterinarian receive results?
Our trained veterinary radiologists will dictate your pet’s results by phone to your veterinarian within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment with STAT reports available. The results will also be sent to your veterinarian. A follow-up phone call can be scheduled upon request.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you are unable to keep your appointment time, please call AnimalScan at 877-VET-MRIS (838-6747) 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. We will help you reschedule to a more convenient time.
